Check out information on A Simple Plan from the Internet Movie Database
A regular guy, his slow brother and the town drunk find a few million dollars in a crashed plane in the woods. What do they do? Keep it, and risk being caught, or just leave it where it was? You figure it out.
I wanted to like this movie, but it left a very bad taste in my mouth. Sam Raimi, who has made the films Evil Deadand Army of Darkness, and who has had great success on television with Hercules, the Legendary Journeys and Xena, Warrior Princess, had a lot going for him. In his attempt to make a serious movie, there were moments in the film that hinted at a better story than what was actually filmed. Good performances by Bridget Fonda, Bill Paxton, and Billy Bob Thorton can't salvage the depressing script.
This movie is a death spiral all the way down. Characters you may have sympathy for, ruin that trust by the time the credits roll. You might want to see it on cable, if it ever gets there.
